The Photography Academy of India is pleased to propose and conduct National Photography Salon 2026. This unique national salon is envisioned as a photographic tribute to India's Independence Day, celebrating the democratic spirit, unity, culture, heritage, diversity, patriotism, and aspirations of our great nation through the creative vision of photographers from every corner of India. Unlike conventional photography competitions, this salon has a special meaning and significance.

Eligibility & Themes
Who Can Participate?
The salon is open to all photographers who are citizens or residents of India, including professional photographers, amateur photographers, students, photojournalists, members of photography clubs, and independent visual storytellers.
Strict Capture Specifications
- Professional Camera Only: Every image must be captured in a professional camera. Mobile photos and mobile shots are strictly not accepted.
- Only Colour Images: Submissions must be color photographs only.
- Shot on 15 August 2026: Every photograph submitted must be captured only on 15 August 2026. Photographs taken before or after 15 August 2026 will not be eligible for the salon. Old images clicked prior to 15th of August 2026 shall be strictly avoided.

Panel of Judges
View JuryEminent teacher-photographers, award-winning international photographers, and reputed photojournalists appointed by the PAI to oversee the selection process.
Salon Catalogue
All contestants will receive a high-quality, full-colour catalogue (8 × 12 inches) in both digital and printed formats. The e-catalogue will be sent to all contestants immediately after the catalogue is officially released. The printed catalogue will be dispatched within one week of the release.
Terms and Conditions
General rules of entry and participation in the National Photography Contest 2026.
- Contest is open for citizens of India.
- Choice of subject is left to the individuals. But they should capture the image in professional camera. Mobile photos and mobile shots are not accepted.
- Only two digital images are accepted per theme. Title Very small maximum 50 characters in English.
- Contestants must be the authors of the works they submit and certify that they are the sole owners.
- A contestant can submit only one set of photographs (two digital images only).
- Photographs should not contain title, name, watermark, or any other form of identification.
- Participants are advised to submit photos in advance to avoid delay. Late entries will be rejected.
- Decision of the Panel of Judges is final and binding. No appeal for reconsideration will be entertained.

- Select photos will be displayed in the Exhibition Hall on the day of award-presentation.
